I two have just read this fantastic series in "Mammoth Book of Zombie Comics" and was by far the best entry. Read it back to back in one go and thought it was great. Would love to see something else in this universe of the undead.. excellent..

A couple of months later, here's a REALLY amazing story that puts your dear dead doctor in his place...

In 1961, a Russian doctor performs a successful appendectomy on himself. The images are not for the faint of heart, and I was immediately struck by the similarity to your artwork.

I just read the full story. It appeared as part of a book someone gave me, the Mammoth Book of Zombie Comics or somesuch. I enjoyed the story immensely. It managed to be a novel handling of the genre, though it did remind me a little of an old Robert Silverberg story, Born With The Dead that plays with a similar theme but without using the z. word. You have my sympathies about the difficulties of actually making money with creative stuff. I'm a published author that has to keep to the crap dayjobs to be able to eat, and scrape together time to write the rest of the time.
